Submitting and Styling Papers for 6th Grade Language Arts

Paper Style:
- All papers must be typed and double-spaced.
- Students may choose between Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri style fonts and all text should be 12pt.
- Each paper should begin with a single-spaced heading in the upper-left hand corner that reads:
Your Name
Your Period
The Assignment Title
The Date
- Each paper must begin with an original and interesting title. The title should be the same font and size as the rest of the paper and centered under the heading.

Paper Submission:
1. Before submitting your paper, you must first save it with a specific file name: “Your Last Name, the Assignment Title.”
a. Ex: Clark, The Uglies Paper
b. To save a paper with the appropriate file name, drag your mouse to the file button at the top left hand corner of your Word document, click and drag down to the “Save As” option, and being sure to save your paper in the appropriate location, change the file name to the appropriate information. 2. Once the paper is saved correctly, log onto your First Class account and open your Language Arts Period Conference.
3. Once inside your LA Period Conference, go to “New” and create a new message. In the subject line, write: ““Your Last Name, the Assignment Title.”
4. Now, using the “Attach” button at the top of your message, attach your appropriately named file. Please do not include any text within the body of the message, and instead, simply hit submit.

Language Arts Folder on the Desktop:
- The Language Arts folder on your desktop should include the following subfolders. (In other words, with the LA folder, you should create these folders:
o Writer’s Toolbox
o Free Writing
o Final Papers
o Drafts
o Lit Circles
